What can those who are fully invested in the genre do to keep it a relevant and sustainable form of music, which is underground enough to appreciate the deep beats, but safe enough for the masses to embrace?

Enter Pete Tong. A DJ on BBC Radio 1 for over 20 years he recognized that there’s a need for everyone to be on the same page in an effort to move EDM forward, which he has been a long-standing cheerleader, developer and producer of.

This is the 5 year anniversary of the summit and it also serves as the kick-off to the start of the summer party season in the legendary Ibiza.  Ibiza being the idyllic place because of the association with all things dance music.  The well established clubs like Pacha, Space and Amnesia, among others (which have been replicated all over the world) are the premiere sites where DJ’s debut new music and establish seasonal residencies.

The summit unlike others is still very exclusive and small compared to Miami’s Winter Music Conference and New York’s Music Seminar.  However, they’ve managed to attract 500 of the most influential delegates in EDM all for the purposes of the networking in a effort to keep everyone dancing. And the after parties aren’t too bad either.
