With all the advances in technology over the past few years and the amazing and wondrous amounts of things in which one can do with it, it was only a matter a time until motion control sensors would be available to the masses.
Although, already available in some capacity, through video game systems, car technology and biometrics…let’s think for a minute of what would happen if all we needed as a controller was our hands. Now let’s go one step further and imagine the implications that could have on the modern DJ.
The Leap Motion is a new way to interact with your computer. Long story short, anything you need done that you can use your hands for, you can do. It’s up to 200 times more accurate than a touchscreen or a mouse and it’s more reliable because of its 8 cubic feet of range used to detect motion. It is available for pre-order, however, it’ll be released just in time for the holiday season later on this year.
About the size of an iPOD Nano (1st generation) all the Leap needs is a quick computer calibration and it’s off and running. The creators wanted to make it as easy and streamline as possible so it wasn’t intimidating to use the new technology. Already linked up to dozens of applications and operating systems the creators are always looking for new the development of new apps.
How do you think the Leap will change the DJ scene?
