Shermanology– A Triple Threat

Sure you’ve probably heard them…and you know they’re going on tour with the infamous Afrojack this summer, but what do you really know about the singer, MC and DJ trio known as Shermanology??? Here are a few details on Dorothy, Andy and Leon Sherman:

1. Where the name comes from…it’s really nothing clever…Sherman is their last name and they come from the Netherlands. Andy and Dorothy are brother and sister, Leon is their uncle.

2. They were brought up on gospel, classical, soul, jazz and Mowtown, and are related to The Sherman Brothers. They grew up watching them rehearse and perform dozens of concerts all throughout their childhood, so when it came time to pursue a career, music was the obvious choice. They absolutely credit their unique sound to their upbringing and are grateful for it every day.

3. The three members all got together after they each had their own music career established in different genres of music.

4. The first major track they were featured on was 3 minutes to explain w/ Fedde le Grand and Funkerman in 2008. (Imagine Dark Beat by Oscar G, with major R&B vocals). They were also a hit at the Amsterdam Dance Event that same year and since then they’ve been featured on songs with  Avicii, Tom Hangs, Groovenatics, The Shapeshifters and Bingo Players.

5. They still have yet to release a full length album because they’ve been so busy collaborating with other artists over the past 5 years, but it’s coming soon! (Real Soon)

The Netherlands has produced dozens of passionate DJ’s, (Laidback Luke, Miss Nine Sander Kleinberg,  Tiesto and others) and Shermanology is no different because their sound comes from a pure place for a love of dance music combined with the spirit of the past to bring forth the future of EDM.
